The village of Hainesville is located in the Lake County, Illinois. Hainesville covers an area of around 4.433 square kilometers. The village of Hainesville is well served by a number of highly efficient educational institutions.

Grayslake Elementary School District, Round Lake Unit School District, and Grayscale High School District are all well known seats of learning. The western portion of the village is served by the Round Lake Schools. For higher education, the students of Hainesville depend on the College of Lake County.

Elijah M. Haines (1822-1889) is credited with the founding of Hainesville. The village was incorporated on February 26, 1847. You would be surprised to note that Hainesville is the oldest incorporated community in Lake County. Haines served eight terms in the State Legislature beginning from 1859 and as such became a very influential member of the Legislature and a person with an authority in the village.
