Booking more than one room-night at a time might get you a discount as well - with mid-week check-in typically getting you great value, versus just mere weekender type bookings for Friday, Saturday nights, that tend to be more expensive due to higher demand.

2. Yes, here too supply and demand is what fuels the pricing. Prepare and book all other parts of your trip BEFORE finalizing your hotel booking. Always check the refund, cancellation and fees portion. Verify and confirm all details, costs and small print before getting that confirmation number.

3. Package deals and pre-sold accommodation blocks provide you the option on capitalizing on some bundling of services and great discounts.

4. Partnering up with airlines, charter flight providers and other carrier, industry partners, rental car companies, restaurants, tour operators, event sponsors and organizers, all make it possible to get great deals on heads in beds!
